Momentary the most durable phone on marketing is hiding in the shell with the mark Panasonic SA6. Panasonic SA6, which has shown itself in our redaction, opens another Panasonic series of the mobile phones. After we met series SC and VS, here’s another one called SA (“Sporty and Active”).

SA6 has lot in comment with presented model VS3. Almost the same shell, camera with macro objective, again without outer display (why?!), a key for One Push Auto Open for phone opening. The same missing things on the model VS3 is here as well. The cover can be active, and also doesn’t have to be, depending on the phone settings, but if it is set to not be active closing the cover of the phone will not end the call, as we were used to another phones. This way you can earn a bigger phone bill (especially if both sides have this same phone, SA6, and just close the cover and not end the call).

Bomb battery

There is one huge difference (not in color!) between SA6 and the other clam shell phones of the new generation. Fatness! SA6 is hiding inside a battery of 1660 mAh. A real marathon guy. In specifications we found that it could last 300 till 740 hours in standby, and we didn’t have it for so long time to find out if it’s really true.
Of course, they were pointing at some specified type of people for using this device, because loads of people will not like this phone because of its unpleasant feeling while holding it or in your pant’s pocket because of its fatness. But anyway, if you really want a durable phone and you need such, SA6 needs to be considered.

Making of

A phone is made out of a very quality plastic, very nice design and neat dark red mix of colors. Inside of the phone is black and is hiding again (just like on model VS3) QVGA TFT display diagonal 2,2 inch and 24 bit colors (equivalent to notebooks). A keyboard is very quality, and while typing the user has a real feeling that the key is accepted. 1,3 mega pixel camera we already met in model VS3.

Software

Software is also already seen and standard. Call lists are separated, where you can’t really see how you get to accepted and missed calls thru list of dialed numbers.
A trick is simple – function key to the right (or left) you go thru lists.
True, it would be nice to put that option in the menu under the calls list.
The light of the phone is already seen, again on the bottom of the phone that covers the camera and lights up over the cover of phone. Seven colors of light can be used in different moods and occasions, and it can be also added to any contact so you can immediately know who is calling.
A lot of users will find bad thing that this phone too hasn’t got Bluetooth as the main connection, just like the model VS3, but they will have to be satisfied with USB 2.0 or infrared connection.
Memory has 30 MB for applications and user data and another 2 MB for MMS messages. Besides all of the standard multimedia possibilities, a phone supports Mp3 format, besides the standard formats on mobile phones (midi, mmf, amr).

For the end

This phone has implemented great what it has, and complains that we have should make better the upcoming models. Ass in a pocket is its marathon durability.
Who needs that, SA6 will please him.

COMPETITION: SA6 really does not have real competition. A battery like that is not offered by and kind of phone like that, and who can deal with it’s fatness because of the battery, he won’t find any phone even close to this one.
