Partnership with BenQ brought us the first phone of Asian border. One for girls, and one for boys...
Like
you could see from the introduction, Siemens CL75 can be found in two
versions, black – silver combination and red – silver combination.
Although this second combination was more fun to us. Drawn flowers, and
converting the inner display into a mirror, we can say that this phone
is made for women. Clam shell phones without the outer display are not
in for a long time, so this phone too is equipped with outer display in
color.
As the camera is situated on the same side of a phone
as that display, that small display can be used for taking the auto
portrait pictures and can be seen quite good. Otherwise, that means
that they didn’t spare any on the outer display colors (65 thousand).
Camera can be activated by pressing one of the side buttons, so it is
not necessary to open the phone. Button under that one (for activation
of speakerphone) just like two buttons for setting the loudness of the
speaker on the other side, enable the backlight so you can quickly see
time or date or missed calls or received messages. Standard, there are
also battery and signal status.
And inside…
By
opening the phone we become aware that the phone of that small size can
become big and long, nice for holding and with a microphone close to
mouth which will be appreciated by the other side speakers. Keys are
apart and very nice to use, It is just a little more confusing that the
function keys are just over the navigation key, and fingers are
automatically running towards down, at least to the author of those
lines. Under the navigation key there is a key for turning off display,
converting it into a mirror, already seen thing, but to some very
useful. On the other side is a key for fast opening of the WAP browser.
By
the function keys it is possible to connect to some functions of the
phone how we could call them from the standby mode. Unfortunately, by
pressing such key, a phone will ask you every time if you really want
to run that function or you maybe want to use it for some other
functions in future. That step is pretty slowing us down, we would like
more if that function was saved somewhere in phone settings.
A
menu is “Siemen’s” by some small adjustments, better once. By entering
the calls list, no matter if from a menu or just by pressing a green
key, you can see whole list of calls (received, dialed, missed) by
horizontal movement thru menu. Just like on SonyEricsson phones. Very
nice and neat option, it’s a pitty they didn’t put it in before.
Although
it shows 256 thousand colors, the sharpness of the menu icons is huge,
thanks to a small resolution of display. We saw phones with fewer
colors, but with better picture.
Options
A
list of functions, options and possibilities of the phone is a
classical on all Siemens phones, which means it has a lot of small
things and gadgets that you will need, and of course loads of those
that you will never use, but it is better to have some more than to
need something and don’t have it. Alarm has the most attention on
itself; you can set four different times and for each time different
day of repeating. If you are not getting up every day at the same time,
this will be very useful to you.
Camera is VGA resolution (640x480
pixels) and doesn’t offer anything spectacular. For photos and short
video clips that you are planning to send via MMS message is more than
enough.

LG C3300
LG has a black and white outer display and shows some less colors on the inside display, and has not so much memory.
