GSM-Java has compiled a list of what we think will be the best mobile gifts this Christmas! These are our phones of the year... Read more...

The following phones were decided by the better their features, regardless of their price:

Best 3G Music Phone

Sony Ericsson W900 UMTS / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 109 x 49 x 24 mm Camera 2 MP, 1632x1224 pixels, autofocus, video, flash, second video call camera W900c - UMTS/GSM 900/1800/1900 MHz for China market

First, we have chosen the Sony Ericsson Walkman W900 as our choice as the best 3g music phone of 2005, and as a result we believe it will be the best phone you can buy someone or yourself for Christmas.

Best 3G Business Phone

Siemens SXG75 UMTS / GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 111.5 x 53 x 20 mm, 108 cc Camera 2 MP, 1600x1200 pixels, video; secondary video call CIF camera

If you’re looking for an all round good phone try the Siemens SXG75, arguably the best phone Siemens has produced. However, if you are looking to purchase a Nokia version try the N70, despite it may cost a lot more; it will just be the same as this device. We hope it won’t be cancelled like the SG75!

Best Camera and Music Phone

Sony Ericsson W800 GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 100 x 46 x 20.5 mm Camera 2 MP, 1632x1224 pixels, autofocus, video, flash W800c - 900/1800/1900 MHz for China market

The Sony Ericsson W800; why buy the Nokia N90 now after camera testing it has proved that is has a better camera quality? It is a W900 without the 3g, if you’re looking for a good walkman phone that is affordable.

Best Video Phone

When it was announced, the BBC selected this handset for their journalists to use where the BBC trucks could not go, with outstanding Video quality; it can be used for live broadcasts and all round 3g fun! The camera may not be as good as the Sony Ericsson W800 but the N90 definitely amazes and for Video phones to follow, and try to beat.

Best Smartphone

The best and one of the last Smartphone’s Sony Ericsson has created. Deciding to slowly abandon the Symbian Operating system, they still put as much effort into their last Smartphone as they did their first. Value for Money!

Best Slide Phone

The Nokia 6280; 3g technology, music, fm radio and Edge; what more can you ask for? We would have chosen the Siemens SG75 if it was not discontinued.

The following phones were chosen by their design, looks, regardless of price and features:

Best Looking Flip-Up

The Motorola Razr series is truly exceptional. It’s sleek, silver design is distinguishable to the Motorola name, original and affordable.

Best Looking Slide

Another Motorola Success! The D series is pure beauty in a slide. What more can I say? No Nokia can defeat a Samsung Slide on looks.
