Tested application was v1.11 on Siemens SX1
v12.
This useful and most important of all – FREE Symbian
application is used to gain access to all drives on your mobile phone
(A (flash), C (flash), D (ram), E (disk) and Z (rom)).
This way you are able to browse through all files on your mobile phone, and not only browse, but you also have possibility to open them, edit, copy and etc.
So, Fexplorer is something like Windows Explorer, but for mobile phones runing on Symbian 60 OS.
Possibilities
As I mentioned above, possibilities of this application are very high. Among usual commands, you are also in possibility to set operator logo from a predefined .bmp picture (97x25).
If you don't know some basic information about you home network, this is the way how to get to know theese information. Simply, go to Options/Network/Info and you'll get all relevant information such as MCC, MNC, Area ID, Cell ID, Network name and etc.
Similar to that, you can get information about your mobile (same information as on typing *#06# code in idle screen). Besides that, FExplorer offers a restarting phone option, which can be useful in some cases.
You can use FExplorer to send any files from your mobile via IrDA, BT, E-m@il, SMS or MMS, that you will find very useful.
Another useful options are under Tools, such as ScreenShot and Compress memory. You can see on picture bellow other extra functions.
Application information
All that you need to
install this application is a 67 kB of free memory (phone or
MMC).
Booting FExplorer is very fast, almost immediately; a
very stabille application that will never couse any problems in correct
phone working.
Another great application is SeleQ –
same possibilities as FExplorer.
Why to use FExplorer and
not SeleQ? Simply because of working speed. FExplorer is incomparable
with SeleQ in this matter.
Only thing that I was
able to find as deficiency in this application is that FExplorer can't
play .mid, .amr & .wav files if they are not in c:
okiasoundsdigital or in e:systemsoundsdigital.
Conclusion
FExplorer is definetly a great way of expanding your phone possibilities and having access to all phone drives.
